Drum Classes
The Batucaxé Community Drum Bateria includes over forty members who are expanding their knowledge of percussion and movement. It's open to all levels of ability.
Our weekly band sessions include a combination of warm-ups, skills lessons, rehearsing repertoire and learning new repertoire. We learn through a combination of recorded music, written parts and oral instruction. You don't need to be able to read music--we work hard to find the best learning methods for all of our members.
The Community Bateria meets weekly to learn rhythms, songs and choreography. Monthly Sectional rehearsals help each instrument section to focus on their particular skills and tighten up specific parts of the repertoire. Individual lessons are also available to help members get up to speed and grow even further.
